Sunday 28th February 2010

We have had yet more wet weather this week; we did see a few flakes of snow during the week but in the main it has been more rain in our area. This has meant that the already water logged fields and full rivers have had more to contend with, we now have the fields in our area flooded from all the water. We have been lucky in that this has not as yet caused too many problems, like it has in other areas. Watching the news the last couple of days we have seen that the snow has caused problems in Scotland and other places round the country have suffered flooding. The forecast is for more of the same weather wise and several areas have got flood warnings for the next few days.

This all seems minor when you look at the earthquake that has happened in Chile and the devestation that has been caused by it. Coming quite close to others around the world, this really makes us feel that we are lucky to live in a country that is not at a high risk from quakes. Although the quakes don’t occur that frequently in the same areas, it does seem that there is an increase in them the last couple of years or so around the world.

For us this week  it has been quiet, which has meant we have had some time to relax at home and try to catch up with some jobs. We have as usual been keeping up to date with the web site(naturist-corner); this can be quite amusing at times and frustrating at others. We have had a few new members register lately that have been a bit of a problem in that they don’t seem able to follow site rules; we ask all new members to fill in their profiles before posting an introduction post is completed. It is amazing how many do not understand these simple instruction and are not filling out their profiles and so causing more work for us and the other gmods/admin in chasing them up.

We are looking forward to our naturist swim Sunday night, which we now hope to make a regular event for us. We have both enjoyed the last ones we went to a great deal and feel that it is a good way of spending some time with others in a naturist atmosphere, as well as getting in some naturist swimming which is always better than being restricted by costumes.

Here is a pic from our holiday in Scotland a few years ago.

Saturday 20th February

This week seems to have gone really quickly, but we don’t seem to have accomplished much. Cas has just finished work in the garden lopping/cutting up some branches from our cherry tree, these had to be removed to stop them from hitting the bungalow and hanging over the path. Still got loads more  trimming to do on the row of trees down the side of the garden, but this will have to wait for another day.

We have spent some time sorting out some photos and various other files on the computer, making sure we have our work backed up in case of problems with one copy. This always seems to be a job left for too long as it’s rather boring checking files and backing up data.

The weather this week has remained cold and wet so we have not been able to get out to do any new photos this week. We have got some shots we would like to take planned and are just waiting for the weather to be suitable. We are looking forward for the drier weather so we can get out for our walks at our local picnic areas and woods, the ground at the moment is a bit too muddy for this. We have tried a couple of times but have found that the muddy ground is a bit too boggy and slippery to make the walks enjoyable. It also means that some of the areas we use to take our photos are not viable until the ground dries up a bit.

The web site (Naturist-corner) has had a few updates in the past couple of weeks, including the naturist swim reports section being added. We have posted our full report of Prested Hall Swim on there and another member has done one for a swim in Leeds. We hope more members will post reviews of their local swims, as this will be a good way of getting to know what they are like before making arrangements to attend them.

We have added a new feature to our blog this week; On the our photography page we have added a Domai beauty of the day photo, this will change daily. We would like to thank Domai for the link to do this; for anyone that is interested Domai produces a free newsletter once a week as well as having photo sets available for those that subscribe.

Sunday 14th February

We are a day late with our blog this week as we have been very busy, and have not found the time to update it until now.

This week saw the snow back for another go, which in turn meant more accidents in our area. We avoided these and only saw the results of some of them. It is still cold with the temperatures staying around the oC mark, with it going down to -3C most nights. This has meant that there has been some lovely clear nights, which have been perfect for looking at the stars.

This week we have had over 1000 views of our blog and would like to say a thank you to all who read it. It still seems odd that others are interested enough in our ramblings to read it, but we do appreciate you all doing so. We started this off as something to try and as an example of how with limited knowledge one could be set up, as well as to try and encourage others from Naturist-corner to maybe do their own one. We would also like to say thanks to those that have left us comments and we have enjoyed reading these. Please feel free to leave them for us as it helps let us know how we are doing.

Tonight we have just got back from our second naturist swim at Prested hall, we had a great time again and really enjoyed it. This time we were a bit more relaxed from the start as we now knew our way around, as well as having met some of the people last time we went. Cas was brave this week and tried the steam room, but found she could not stay in for more than about a minute or so as it made her feel a bit ill from the heat. Jon finds that it is a great way to relax after a bit of swimming as the heat helps him a lot.

Saturday 6th February 2010

We are now starting to get lighter evenings so we are looking forward to being able to start getting out and taking some more photos. The weather also seems to have started to improve with most nights now no longer freezing.

We don’t seem to have got a lot done this week, but have been quite busy. The site (naturist-corner) is still going well and we are working with the other admin and moderators at sorting out some updates for it. These we hope will make the site more user friendly and provide more information on naturism and associated events. We are always looking for ideas to improve the site and welcome member feedback to help us with this.

We have been going through some photos we took recently and found the following one. We think it can be improved upon and will hopefully be retrying the shot in the near future, with the better camera (this was taken with our small panasonic tz7).
