Sunday 25th April 2010

Hi all sorry we are a day late with our update this week but it seems to have been a very busy week for us once again. This week we seem to have spent most of our time helping friends and family out, with very little time to ourselves.

The weather has been good to us during the week with lots of sunshine, although it was quite cool as we had a cool wind for most of the week.  This at least meant we were able to get out and enjoy the sun when we had some spare time, although it was still a bit too cold to be out nude.

With most of our week having been busy, we decided to accept an invite from some friends of ours to a BBQ on Saturday. We decided to couple this up with some photo taking as it was a lovely day. We asked our friend we are helping with his photos if he was interested in coming along and he said yes, so we spent a couple of hours out taking pictures before going to the BBQ. We then spent a lovely evening with some of our friends and relaxing in their garden.

Today we spent most of the day watching the BTCC, as we both found we ached quite a lot from our activities the day before. We seem to find that having been out exploring and thinking photos one day, we can find that our bodies decide that we have done too much and we end up with lots of aches the next day. This also meant that we missed our swim again this week, but we hope to be able to get to the next one.

We still managed to keep up to date with our admin duties on Naturist-Corner and we are still pleased that the site is going really well. We are still getting new members all the time and continue to welcome them, as well as giving advice as needed. It is good to see that the site is well used and a lot of members are making friends via the site.

Saturday 17th April 2010

This week has been dry with most days being sunny and providing us with the first real opportunity to get out and take some photos. We found this a real boost after all the adverse weather we have had over winter and feel that spring is now well on its way. Having said that not everything is going well with the volcano that erupted in Iceland this week now causing problems in this country with most planes being grounded for a few days because of the ash in the atmosphere. This has meant a lot of people have been stuck in other countries not able to get back home as well as those not able to exit this country. The one thing this has meant is that there have been spectacular sunsets in certain areas caused by the ash in the air.

Our week started on a bit of a low point in some ways as we didn’t get to our naturist swim on Sunday as Jon was suffering a lot with pain. Instead we spent the day relaxing and catching up with other jobs where possible.

Monday we managed to get out for a while and took some photos in the Abberton area, Jon mainly stayed in the car while I went wondering about to take the photos. I tried some of sea gulls in flight with a small amount of success, although none were as good as I would have liked.

This is one of the pictures I took that day.

On Thursday we took a friend out who’s hoping to improve his photography, we went to Flatford for the afternoon and helped show him some ideas which we thought would be helpful. We also did some demonstrations of how apertures affect depth of field, this he found very useful as he was finding it hard to get this right in some photos. We then went back to his house to go through his images on his computer with him, he was really happy with them and said they were some of the best he had taken.

The Photos above are some we took during our trip, we have added a few more to our flickr stream as well.

Friday was spent recovering and going through our photos on our computer getting them ready to put some on here and flickr.

Saturday 10th April 2010

This week finally brightened up over the last couple of days and we have had some sunshine and warmer temperatures, this has been lovely as we have been able to shed our jackets when out as well as get some nude time in the garden.

During the week we have added a contact form to the blog for those of you that wish to ask us anything directly; we had a few people ask for this on our comments and have now managed to sort it. Please do not use it for junk!!

We have been busy once again with the website naturist-corner, it’s still going great and we are getting more new members all the time. It’s great to see members from other countries joining us, as it makes it a more international site. We had a great evening in chat the other day with several other members and a good discussion going on with regards to naturism and tolerance of others especially body adornments and tattoos etc. The general outcome was that it should not matter what a person looks like and all should be accepted without prejudice.

Once again we were called in by friends of ours to help out with computer problems this week; One morning they were near their computer when it went with a loud bang and a flash even though it was off at the time. Suspecting this would be the power supply going we found one we had spare and took it over to them. On taking the computer apart we found that this looked to be the case and proceeded to remove the dead power supply and put in our spare one; this went ok until we realised that the plug that went to the mother board did not have the correct number of pins. Their one required a 24pin plug and the one we had only had 20. We said we had another one at home and would check that the next morning. We checked the power supply we had at home the next day to find that it also had only 20 pins; we let them know and they went out and bought a new one with the correct pins. Once fitted the computer started fine and works once more.

Our friend also asked us to help him learn more about photography as he would love to improve and be able to take more than snap shots. At the moment he only has the kit lens with his nikon slr, but this is enough to get started. We talked him through some of the basics of depth of field and f numbers etc; he said he could understand that and we proceeded to do some basic demonstrations with him to show what we were talking about. As it was late evening by now we asked him to try some tasks in the daylight so he could better see the difference changing the f number would make on depth of field. We are going to go out with him sometime to practice this hopefully during the next week; we also hope to show him some other tips as well. As he is thinking of getting a longer lens or two times converter we have said he can try out our lens and see what he thinks as we have both types and then he can decide what type he would like as a second lens.

We have also told him to have a look at the free magazines that photographyBB produce every month as these are full of useful information; all back issues are available to download as well. We also said to have a look at the forum on the site and consider joining the friendly group as there are loads of tips and advice for all, from those new to photography to the more advanced.

Anyway we hope the weather stays kind to us and we can have loads more naked days, so till next week have a great naked week.

Saturday 3rd April 2010

This week has once again seen a change in the weather and we are back to colder temperatures with the northern and western parts of the uk having some snow while the rest of us got rain. This once again has caused a lot of problems on the roads with more accidents. One of the accidents this week was quite nasty with a coach full of children going off the road and down into a river; this left one child dead and several others injured. We are not really sure why this outing was not cancelled as the weather conditions at the time were classed as blizzard and not really suitable for travel unless it was essential.

Our week started with our naturist swim on Sunday which we once again enjoyed loads, we met up with some friends at the swim we had not seen for about a year. It was great to catch up with them and that they are both well; we hope to see a bit more of them over the summer. We are trying to arrange a naturist photo shoot with them which should be good fun. The swim turned into a bit of a fun session this week; as it was the children’s week they have pool toys about this resulted in us adults nicking them and playing with them instead which was fun for a while.

The rest of the week was mainly spent keeping an eye on Naturist-corner dealing with new members and some queries from people about site features .

On Thursday we went to see our friends in Harwich and had a nice meal with them we helped sort out a computer problem for them whilst we were there, they were very grateful for this.

With the rain during the week we have not been out taking any photos, so we hope the weather clears up soon so we can get some more photos taken. The spring flowers are out now and a lot of the parks in our area look great with them all out, and it would be nice to get out to take some pictures of them.

This weekend sees the first race of the season for BTCC and we are looking forward to watching the coverage of the races all day tomorrow. We are hoping for some good races this year and if we are lucky we might be able to get to our local race (Snetterton). We did this a few years ago and ended up taking several hundred photos while we were there; we did this on a mixture of film and digital at the time, but ended up mainly having to use our film camera as the digital kept overheating. It was a really hot day (about 37 C) and our old minolta digital camera did not like it and kept freezing every few shots and had to cool down before being used again; we were not the only ones having problems that day as some of the pros were also having to change battery packs regularly to give them a cool down.Hopefully we will have better luck if we go again.
